GMA Network president and COO Gilberto R. Duavit on Thursday said the station is working on new projects for Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza, whose splitscreen romance on Eat Bulaga's Kalyeserye has taken the nation — and the world — by storm.
"Aside from the prospects of a television program involving both of them together, there are other plans in discussion or in the pipe," he said.
And when will those plans materialize?
"Sa tamang panahon," said Duavit.
He credited the AlDub phenomenon for boosting the ratings of the network.
"Looking at how that phenomenon has brought audiences back to GMA after a certain period of time,
I think that can be very clearly established by the ratings," he said.
GMA Network chairman and CEO Felipe L. Gozon, meanwhile, paid tribute to the relationship between the network and blocktimer TAPE, Inc., which produces the long-running noontime show.
"Fortunately, our relationship with TAPE has not been any better than it is now. We have been together for 17 years and we have gained experience," said Gozon.
